The fruit is easily identified with its rough oblate shape and red flesh. Unlike other citrus fruits, it is a firmer flesh and less juicy flavour.

- • Use a sharp knife to cut a "cap" of the pomelo, score four cuts in the skin from the top to bottom at equal distances around the pomelo
- • Do not cut into the flesh, cut the skin only, and peel off the skin
