Blueberries are a wild fruit belonging to the genus Vaccinium . A distinction must be made between blueberries and cranberries. The origin of blueberries is a mystery, but they date back to the Eurasian continent at the dawn of civilization. They have been used to prevent a multitude of diseases for centuries.
It is considered a “super fruit” due to its high level of antioxidants and its complete nutritional contribution to the body. They are consumed alone or mixed with yogurt, sugar, in ice creams, jams, juices, milkshakes and are also highly appreciated in pastries for sweets, cakes and pies.
