Key Information

Broccoli belongs to the cabbage family; it is made up of edible large flowering head and stalk. It comes in a variety of colours ranging from dark sage to dark and purplish green. It is power packed with vitamins and nutrients, suitable for the young and old.

  • Ways to enjoy:
  • • Steamed: Put it in the microwave and serve with a little salt, vinegar and olive oil
  • • Roasted: Bake the broccoli with plenty of olive oil, salt and pepper (seasonings) at 400 degrees F in the oven for 15 minutes until it becomes crisp tender or begins to turn brown. Flip the broccoli halfway while cooking to ensure it is cooked evenly. Serve with freshly grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  • • Serve with pasta: Incorporate it into your paste as one of the ingredients


  • • Consume broccoli as soon as you have purchased it as it will not keep fresh for long
  • • Rinse the broccoli head and wrap loosely in a damp towel
  • • Keep it refrigerated and consume within 2 to 3 days
