A very fine, white powder made from fossilized remains of microorganisms called diatoms. DE is pure silicon dioxide (SiO2) and is non-toxic. Food grade Diatomaceous Earth is often used as a mineral-based mechanical pesticide in gardens. It has sharp microscopic edges which cut and dehydrate garden pests with exoskeletons as they crawl over the DE. Earthworms are not harmed by Diatomaceous Earth, so Diatomaceous Earth can also be safely used in Worm Compost Bins. As Diatomaceous Earth does not contain any toxic chemicals, it is safe to the touch for humans and animals. Target Pests: Ants, Aphids, Beetles, Centipedes, Cockroaches, Flies, Fungus Gnats, Maggots, Mealybugs, Millipedes, Termites, Thrips, etc. DE also deters snails and slugs. Target Areas: Garden Beds, Plant Bodies, Potted Plants, Compost Bins, etc.
