Ingredients
3 (about 500g) Ikan Selar
1 tsp Turmeric Powder
Salt (to taste)
½ Brown Onion (julienned)
3 tbsp Sambal Tumis (homemade or store bought)
Tamarind Paste (dissolved in water, to taste)
Salt (to taste)
Sugar (to taste)
Calamansi
Method
- Pat dry the selar, then rub turmeric and salt all over both sides.
- In a frying pan, heat 1 tbsp of oil over medium heat, pan-fry the selar for about 5–8 minutes on each side, depending on the size of the fish. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pan, heat 1 tbsp of oil, sauté onions till slightly translucent and add in sambal tumis.
- Add in tamarind juice, salt and sugar (adjust taste to preference).
- Spoon the sambal tumis onto the pan-fried selar, and serve with calamansi.
