Seaco Steamed King Crab with Garlic Paste (蒜蓉蒸帝王蟹)

Ingredients

200g Seaco Cooked King Crab (1 packet)
10 cloves Garlic
1 – 1.5 tsp Oyster Sauce
1 – 1.5 tsp Soy Sauce
1 – 1.5 tsp Sugar
¼ tsp Salt
¼ tsp Sesame Oil
2 tbsp Cooking Oil
1 tbsp Hua Tiao Cooking Wine (optional)
*amount of seasonings can be adjusted to taste, filling ingredients can be adjusted based on personal preference.

 

Method
  • Thaw the king crab. Once thawed rinse briefly and use paper towel to dry. Arrange on a steaming plate.
  • Prepare garlic paste. Mince garlic using food chopper or knife.
  • Briefly rinse minced garlic to get rid of bitter taste. Drain and pat dry.
  • In a frying pan, heat 2 tbsp cooking oil, add half of the minced garlic. Stir fry on medium low heat till slightly golden brown. Off heat and add the remaining minced garlic. Stir fry using residual heat.
  • Add seasonings to taste. Garlic paste is done.
  • Sprinkle 1 tbsp cooking wine over the crab (optional).
  • Spread garlic paste over the king crab.
  • Steam the crab on high heat for 2 mins. Remove from steamer, sprinkle with chopped spring onion, coriander & chilli padi (if desired).
  • Best served warm.
