Korean Eggs Available at FairPrice for the first time – expands current range of eggs and aligned with food diversification strategy
NTUC FairPrice (FairPrice) launched its inaugural Korean Fair today, called Korean Fair 2010.
Featuring more than 40 items, from traditional Korean food such as Kimchi and Topokki, to fresh produce such as Korean pears and mushrooms, the fair aims to better meet the needs of evolving customers as they are becoming increasingly affluent and well-travelled. In addition, more than 10 new Korean food products such as Bibimbab and Chap Chae, along with 8 Housebrand products will also be showcased at the fair.
Mr Seah Kian Peng, Chief Executive Officer (Singapore), NTUC FairPrice said, “Apart from satisfying Singaporeans’ palates, the importing of staple food products such as rice and eggs from Korea reinforces FairPrice’s diversified food sourcing strategy in lessening the impact of food shortages from around the world.” He added that, “The Korean Fair also underscores the vibrant business ties with our business partners and suppliers.”
FairPrice currently carries some 1,400 Korean products, comprising fresh produce, groceries and non-food products. Apart from popular products like Korean strawberries, instant noodles and seaweed, Korean eggs will also be available for the first time at FairPrice stores.
This adds to the current range of some 30 egg product varieties, available at FairPrice, from Malaysia, New Zealand and locally as well.
“Korean Fair 2010” will be held from 18 November to 1 December 2010, at all FairPrice supermarkets.Back
