NTUC FairPrice Online’s Click&Collect self-collection service increases number of grocery collection points to further enhance customers convenience

  •          Number of collection points expanded to 22 locations, up from seven when it was first launched in September 2014
  •          Customers will enjoy free delivery for all Click&Collect orders in January 2015

SINGAPORE, 31 December 2014 – NTUC FairPrice (FairPrice) will increase the locations for the collection of groceries for its FairPrice Online Click&Collect service from 1 January 2015. This follows an increased demand for its self-collection service, which now allows shoppers to collect from a total of 22 collection points that are conveniently located island-wide. [Refer to appendix for list of collection points]

Ms Tan Huey Ling, Deputy General Manager (FairPrice Online), NTUC FairPrice, said, “FairPrice Online constantly adapts to the evolving needs and changing lifestyles of our customers. Following the launch of Click&Collect earlier this year, we have now expanded our collection points to provide greater accessibility to time-stretched customers who enjoy the convenience of shopping online and prefer to self-collect their orders. We are encouraged by the take-up rate in the past 4 months and expect more of our customers to use Click&Collect as shoppers become more receptive to this delivery service.”

Officially launched in September 2014, the Click&Collect service has seen a month-on-month increase of 10 percent in orders. Over the recent festive period, Click&Collect orders also made up about 20 percent of all online delicatessen orders.

To encourage greater utilisation of the service and also to thank existing Click&Collect customers for their support, FairPrice Online will waive the fees for Click&Collect throughout the month of January 2015. Click&Collect is normally available at a nominal fee of $3 - lower than the home delivery fee of $7 charged for purchases $60 and above.

FairPrice Online

First introduced in 2002 before online shopping gained popularity in Singapore, FairPrice Online continues to grow over the years, registering an increase of 15 per cent in sales year-on-year. To date, FairPrice Online offers over 5,100 products including fresh produce, chilled dairy products and frozen meats. FairPrice Online has an existing base of over  100,000 subscribers – 45 percent of which are active users who have made an online order in the past year.
