A day in the life of a Retail Assistant with Royce Lee

You are responsible for operating the POS cash register, handle various types of payments and perform packing for customer purchases. You are required to provide prompt, helpful and courteous service to customers at all times. You are also expected to perform stacking, display and replenishment of products on the shelves when required.

  • Minimum Secondary 2 education/ESS WPLN level 4

You will be responsible for handling and fulfilling orders from our online customers. Your duties include selecting items such as fresh produce from the store, packing the products and preparing items for delivery. You will uphold quality control and ensure all orders are fulfilled correctly to guarantee a perfect order. You are also required to stack, display and replenish products on the shelves, as well as monitor expiry dates and shelf lives of products.

Requirements

  • Minimum Primary 6 education/ ESS WPLN level 4
  • Candidates with prior retail experiences will be preferred
  • Basic IT Proficiency to use electronic devices such as smartphones
  • Meticulous to ensure the right products are being selected for delivery
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills in English is a must
  • Able to work on rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays
  • Able to carry loads up to 15kg
  • Able to commence work immediately

Others

  • Contract period: 12 months (convertible to permanent position depending on performance)

You are responsible for ensuring online grocery orders are processed accurately and delivered on-time. The job tasks include inventory management, maintaining pick, pack and delivery standards. You need to attend to order-related enquiries by customers. You are also required to supervise and train a team of Grocery Shoppers in ensuring the smooth running of daily operations and manpower rostering.

Requirements

  • Diploma/ GCE ‘A’ level/ Higher NITEC/ GCE ‘O’ level with minimum 2 years’ of retail or inventory management experience
  • Candidates with no experience are welcome to apply
  • Able to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Hands-on, service-oriented, and meticulous team player with good leadership skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with smartphones
  • Must be able to work 6-day work week, rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays

You will advocate and convert in-store customers to use Scan & Go applications and gather customer feedback’s. You will be responsible for ensuring the processes and products are working as expected in store. You are required to supervise and train a team of Ambassadors in ensuring the smooth running of operations and manpower rostering. You are expected to be the key contact point for the management to understand issues on the ground. You will also need to work with an Executive to create and update training materials for the Ambassadors.

Requirements

  • Diploma in any discipline
  • Minimum 3 years of retail experience is an advantage
  • Team player with good leadership skills and communication skills
  • Service-oriented, independent and hands-on person
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to work rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays
  • Must be willing to travel (between stores and Head Office)

You are responsible for performing customer service, cashiering, housekeeping, security, inventory control and merchandising in Unity stores. Ad-hoc duties will be given as well.

  • (Full-Time) Able to work on rotating shifts, weekends and public holidays

You are responsible for sales and profits for your category of products. The job tasks include inventory management, maintain housekeeping and merchandising standards as well as product planning and allocation according to sales and customer demands. You are also required to supervise and train a team of Retail Assistants in ensuring the smooth running of daily operations.

You are responsible for cutting meat, fish and handling merchandise of meat and seafood items. You are also required to monitor and maintain freshness and quality of items, as well as perform housekeeping and ensure cleanliness of your work area in accordance to safety procedures and standards of hygiene.

You are responsible for ensuring proper receiving and issuance of goods. You are required to perform record-keeping, stock movement control and assist in the return of damaged goods. You are also expected to ensure cleanliness and perform housekeeping of the store area, as well as train and supervise storehands if required.

  • Minimum Secondary/ GCE ‘N’/ ‘O’ level with basic computer knowledge
  • Service-oriented, team player with working experience in warehousing functions

Responsible for assisting in generating sales through creative retail displays that captures customers’ attention, with the goal of providing an excellent in-store experience. You will employ visual merchandising principles to convert window shoppers into prospects by driving branding and sales objectives in order to maximise profitability. He/She is expected to:

  • Create and implement a visual merchandising strategy for the store
  • Ensuring the strategy is in line with the store’s brand, products, and target market
  • Generating sketches of visual displays that meet the store’s visual design requirements
  • Finalising designs and creating visual displays for display areas
  • Sourcing the props, creative materials, and accessories for displays
  • Installing and setting up window displays, walkways, counters, and in-store displays, or supervising contractors hired for this purpose
  • Changing displays to promote new product launches or to reflect festive or seasonal themes
  • Ensuring uniformity of displays across multiple store locations
  • Liaising with other retail professionals, including buyers, marketing executives, and retail merchandisers, when necessary
  • Researching lifestyle and design trends that will inform the visual merchandising strategy
  • Using applied skills in visual design and space utilisation to enhance the aesthetic appeal of window displays, walkways, counters, and in-store displays

You are responsible for packing and arrangement of fish. You are also required to monitor and maintain freshness and quality of items, as well as perform housekeeping and ensure cleanliness of your work area in accordance to safety procedures and standards of hygiene.

Requirements

  • No experience required as training will be provided.
  • Service-oriented, team player with ability to read and communicate in simple English
  • Ability to work in wet and cold environment as well as carry heavy loads

You are responsible for assisting the Retail Supervisor in the daily sales of the store and provide smooth and efficient service to customers. You are also required to be constantly updated on all marketing and sales promotion schemes and policies.

Requirements

• Minimum GCE ‘N’ level with good knowledge of selling prices and cost of various products
• Service-oriented, team player with sales experience in electronics products

You are responsible for cutting and preparing meats for sales for our customers and the smooth running of your department, including supervising staffs and manage staff matters. You are also required to do weighing, packing, pricing and displaying of products, greeting and speaking to customers, providing advice, answering questions, and accepting orders. You are also required to do cleaning and maintaining tools and equipment and adhering to food safety and sanitation controls and perform quality inspection on meats and other products.

Requirements

  • Diploma/GCE ‘A’ level/ Higher NITEC/ GCE ‘O’ level
  • Prior experience will have an added advantage
  • Able to speak and read simple English
  • Physically fit to lift heavy items and work in cold environments.
  • Able to work on weekends and rotating shifts
  • Knowledge of meat preparation techniques and food safety.
  • Service-orientated, strong communication and a team player is a must.

The role and responsibility of a Meat Specialist is to drive sales and profitability of the department by ensuring overall visual merchandising, product range, shrinkage management at store level. Equipped with in-depth knowledge of meats mainly on product features, meat processing, visual management, service standard, and shrinkage management. As an experienced subject matter expert, the Meat Specialist is also required to supervise and mentor skilled cutters assigned to the respective counter(s).
