For a cup of toor dhal add 2 cups of water (depends on how much watery you want your dhal but it should be atleast twice the amount the toor dhal, should be well cooked Add 2 pinches of turmeric. Add 2 pinch of asafoetida powder. Add 2-3 drops of gingerly oil (optional) to be frothing while it cooks. add 2 pods of garlic. Pressure cook this to 3-4 whistles or until the dal is done.
