Ingredients
250g Pig Skin
1 tbsp Vegetable Oil
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Sugar
1 tsp Five Spice Powder
2 tbsp Soy Sauce
ΒΌ tsp Fennel Seed
3 slices Bay Leaves
Method
- Rinse the pig skin thoroughly under cold running water to remove any dirt or debris. Use a knife or a scraper to gently scrape the surface of the pig skin to remove any remaining dirt, impurities, or hairs from the skin. Scrape until the pigskin’s surface is clean and smooth.
- Boil the pig skin in a pot with water. Once it boils, remove pig skin and scrape the pig skin to remove oil layer with the back of a knife.
- Rinse the pig skin before cutting into strips of about 3 cm each.
- Prepare a pressure cooker and add the pork skin and soy sauce into the cooker.
- Add in vegetable oil, salt and sugar into the cooker in sequence. Sprinkle in some fennel seeds and washed bay leaves.
- Pour water and five-spice powder into the pot, cover the lid and let it boil. Once boiling, let it simmer for another 15 minutes.
- Remove the pork skin and serve it with the marinade sauce.
