230g Plain flour (sifted)
¼ tsp Salt (sifted)
1¾ tsp Baking powder (sifted)
Ingredients B
¼ tsp Bicarbonate soda
1 tbsp Ginger powder
½ tsp Cinnamon powder
175g Shortening
180g Castor sugar
Ingredients C
1 Fresh egg
90g Molasses syrup*
1 tbsp Freshly grated ginger & juice*

Method
- Cream ingredients B for 4 minutes. Add egg and continue beating for ½ minute. Add molasses syrup and grated ginger. Continue beating for 1 minute.
- Fold in ingredients A to form a soft dough.
- Drop dough by a teaspoon onto a greased baking tray. Bake in oven at 180°C for 15 – 20 minutes.
